夏のアーティスト・イン・レジデンス2012「肌理と気配」のご案内 AIR2012"Texture and Sense"

ACACでは淺井展が終了して次なる展覧会「肌理（きめ）と気配─Textures」のオープンに向けて4名のアーティストが滞在制作中です。以下、簡単に展覧会概要を紹介します。明日以降アーティストの制作の様子も順次公開していきますので、ご期待ください。
展覧会オープンは7月28日（土）。この日は4名の全アーティストによるアーティストトークを午後2時半から開催します。ご来場お待ちしてます。

「神は細部に宿る」 ミース・ファン・デル・ローエ

　青森公立大学国際芸術センター青森(ACAC)では、2001年の開館以来アーティスト・イン・レジデンス(AIR)を実施しています。2012年度のテーマは「物語/story telling」。アーティストはその活動や作品制作を介して、現在の社会を様々な視点から捉え、思わぬ価値を提示したり、あるいは疑問を投げかけたりと、世界の今を記述し伝える語り部（ストーリーテラー）でもあります。作品は明解且つ論理的につくられますが、ときに論理を超越する詩的な美しさや発想の飛躍があったりと、作品構造のみでは理解し得ない物語世界がその背後に潜んでいたりします。
本展覧会「肌理と気配─Textures」では、作品の細部や背後にある物語世界に焦点を当てています。「肌理」は「表面のこまかいあや」などを意味し、英語では”texture(テクスチャー)”となります。”texture”は「構造」や「組織」から「触覚」や「質感」、「特性」など幅広い意味をもつことばです。また、20世紀を代表する建築家ミース・ファン・デル・ローエの「神は細部に宿る」ということばにも細部の肌理への強い意識がうかがえます。展覧会を通して各アーティストの作品細部に宿る静かな物語の気配を感じてください。

Texture and Sense

The Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (ACAC) has conducted Artist in Residence programs since its founding in 2001. The theme for the 2012 year is "storytelling".Artists are storytellers who describe and convey the present world through their art activities and productions by interpreting contemporary society from myriad perspectives and offering previously unforeseen values or posing challenging questions.Pieces are created clearly and logically, but sometimes a storyworld hides behind each piece, containing poetic beauty and completely novel ideas which transcend logic, which would otherwise remain incomprehensible by looking a piece’s structure alone.
In this exhibition, "Texture and Sense", we focus on each piece's subtleties, its storyworld in the backdrop. "Touch" suggests the intricate surface designs and patterns and corresponds with the word "texture" in English. The word "texture" holds many meanings; it can mean anything from "structure" and "composition" to "touch" or "feel" or "features". The words of well-known 20th-century architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, "God is in the details," tell of a strong awareness towards the most detailed textures.
Throughout the exhibitions, we hope you will sense the quiet story which dwells in the details of each of our artists' pieces.

■Artist Profiles
Anni Leppälä
Born 1981 in Helsinki, Finland. Graduated with an MA in Photography from the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. She creates photographs replete with her own unique narrative of interweaving reality with fiction. Main exhibitions include: "Touching dreams" (The National Museum of Photography, Copenhagen, Denmark/2011) etc.

assistant [ MATSUBARA Megumi + ARIYAMA Hiroi ]
An architect unit created in 2002 by Matsubara and Ariyama. Their activities traverse art and architecture. They plan to complete a part of their "33-year-old House," a house under construction in Nara, while in Aomori and unveil is as a display, the space itself as an interactive work of art.　 "ABSENT CITY: Non-Existent City" Exhibition (Solo Exhibition/2008), etc.

NOMURA Makoto
Born in 1968 in Nagoya. Composer, keyboard harmonica/piano player, group composing facilitator.　In addition to his musical activities, he also participates in a wide variety of other genres such as theater and the fine arts. During his Artist in Residence, he will unveil his first installation piece and attempt a composure which employs the ACAC outdoors and piano.

HOKI Nobuya
Born in 1966 in Kyoto and a graduate from the Kyoto City University of Arts (MFA, painting). He produces paintings by a unique two-pronged drawing device, resulting in what Hoki describes as “double line drawing,” in which two parallel lines comprise the picture. Main exhibitions include: "rapt! – 20 contemporary artists from Japan" (Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne/2006)
"Painting Garden" (The National Museum of Art, Osaka/2010)

100人で泥絵を消した。 We erased the Earth Painting with 100 people.

展覧会最終日の6月24日。午後4時から午後6時までの最後の2時間は今回のプロジェクトにとってとても大切な儀式の時間でした。展覧会場の壁面に直接描いた全長72mで高さ6mの巨大な泥絵は会期が終了したら消してしまわなければなりません。「絵を消すことはとても悲しいことだけど、消すことで身体に吸収することによってまた新しい絵を描くことができる」というようなことを淺井さんは仰っていました。この日はこのプロジェクトを締めくくる最後の時間に100人を超える方が参加してくれました。その様子をちょっと公開します。

June 24 is the last day of Asai Yusuke Exhibition. We organized the ceremonial final event for the project "Erasing the Earth Painting with 100 people." Asai drew the Earth Painting directly on the wall. So he have to vanish the painting after the exhibition closed. He said, " Erasing the painting is wevy sad thing, but because of erasing I can have a feeling to draw much better painting next time." It was really wonderful ceremony and good time.

↑スポンジとエコバッグで泥絵を消します。エコバッグが最後泥染バックとなって参加者に抽選でプレゼントされました。 We used sponge and eco bag to clean the wall painting.

そしてみんなで消します。 Then start erasing the painting.


↑ただ消すのではなく、そこにいる生き物や植物を丁寧に消します。消すことによってみんなのからだに絵が吸収されていくようです。 Erasing the Earth Painting very carefully to absorb the painting in our body.
↑2時間で消したものを全員で引いて確認。 We checked how we erased painting.
↑みんなで記念撮影してこの日の儀式は終了。 We shot memorial photo!

翌日も泥会消しは続きました。 We continued the erasing more 2days with several staff.



そして現在はすっかり泥絵は消え真っ白なギャラリーに戻りました。とても悲しいけれど次の展覧会がまたきれいな空間ではじめられるのも楽しみです。次回展覧会「肌理（きめ）と気配─Textures」は7月28日からです！ Now it's converted completely white cube. We have new exhibition from July 28. The title is "Texture and Sense." Please wait for a few weeks.

筒井南小学校

今日は筒井南小学校2年生のみなさんが創作体験をするためにＡＣＡＣに来てくれました。

朝から晴れのいいお天気です。

不思議なトンネル「四季のアーケード」を通ってＡＣＡＣに向かいます。




今日の創作体験は葉っぱとカラースプレーで「紙の上に森をつくろう」です。


ジャジャーン！！　完成です。
みんな、いいお顔でパチリ。


午後はＡＣＡＣ名物スタンプラリーです。　みんな10個探せたかな？



ＡＣＡＣには生き物もたくさんいるよ。夏休みに遊びに来てね。Ｐ

20120628 荒川小学校

６月２８日は荒川小学校２年生のみんなが来てくれました。

本日はみんなで葉っぱのフロッタージュに挑戦です。

ACACの森の中で、思い思いの形の葉っぱを探します。珍しい葉っぱはどこかな？

みんなの顔の何倍もある、フキの葉も発見！　まるで帽子のよう…

集めてきた葉っぱの葉脈を、クレヨンでこすりだします。

やさしくこするのが、綺麗な形を写すコツ。いろんな色を重ねて、みんなとっても上手に葉っぱの形を写しています。

さらに今日はもう一段階！
こすり取った模様を切り貼りして、森にいたら楽しいなと思う生き物を想像してつくります。

模様を活かして想像力をフル回転！どんな作品ができるかな？

出来上がった作品の発表をしてもらいました！発表してくれたみんなありがとう！
たくさん工夫を凝らした作品ぞろい。みんなよく頑張りました！
お昼のあとには、お待ちかねのスタンプラリー。森の中にある彫刻作品を探します。

今日は、じっくり観察してもらった後にACAC野外彫刻クイズもしました。

作品の特徴を、みんな一生懸命観察して勉強してくれました。おうちの人にも、今日の発見を教えてあげてくださいね。
一緒にまた遊びにきてくれるのを待っています。

6/23 淺井展制作レポート21_ワークショップ「植物になった白線」第2弾 ASAI Yusuke Report 21_Workshop

もうすぐ7月とは思えないほど寒い6月23日土曜日に、「植物になった白線」ワークショップ第2弾を開催しました。
そういえば前回もまだ雪が残る寒い日でした。

前回は木の板に焼き付けましたが、今回は敷地内の道や建物のコンクリートに焼き付け＝半永久的に残る作品です。

まずは人数分に白線シートを切り分け。
前回参加してくださった方も多かったので、作業がスムーズです。


それから枝、葉、花、実、虫、小人（？）などを切り出します。




切り出したものを、グループごとにベニヤ板の上に並べてみます。
これは後から長い植物になります。



お昼を挟んで焼き付け1か所目。
創作棟廊下の、ワークショップスタジオへの入り口の所に丸い形を作ります。

夏AIR参加の野村誠さんも切り出しに参加。

白丸完成！


それから長い植物の焼き付けへ。
この日は雨で外の焼き付けが危ぶまれましたが、なんとか雨は降らず。
参加者の方の多数決で宿泊棟へ続く小道へ焼き付けしました。






白線の周りの道路の色が薄くなっているのは、バーナーの熱でアスファルトの水分が乾いたからです。
それにしても写真で見るとACACは本当に森の中にあることがよく分かりますね～。

終了予定時刻の5時ぴったりに作業終了。
宿泊棟に向かう素敵な道しるべが出来ました。
